We went Back to Bethlehem

We attended a program Saturday night that is one of the most amazing things I have ever been fortunate enough to attend. It is called Back to Bethlehem and is put on by Hopewell Baptist Church in Canton, GA. SO amazing.

Getting ready to go in.

Sissy and Blake in line.

When our group was escorted in, we were held in a small area where a woman informed us that her father owned the local Inn. They were so full that they had to turn away a woman that was expecting and the only room that had for her was in the stable...

We entered the town and boy was it a site to see!! They had food everywhere...

Plenty of fish...

Lucas smelled some frankincense and myrrh...

The boys watched them do some wood carving...

Sharpen knives...

Make horseshoes...

They even got to go inside a home. Well, it was what a home would have been in Bethlehem at the time. In this picture they are sitting in a bed. Or as I would call it, some hay bales with a blanket on top...

Paisley talking to her pawpaw...

Just as we got past the Inn and came to the stable, we witnessed something amazing. I couldn't get a great picture.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Luke 9-14

This soldier followed me all night. He never smiled, but I had to get a picture with him. We had become friends by then, he just didn't know it...

You can't see it good, but there are three crosses on the hill. The guards at the bottom discovered the tomb had been opened...

He has Risen!

He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.

Matthew 28:6

I hope we all remember what Christmas is really about.

I know this is silly, but I think it is so cute. I actually put it on my Christmas cards. You may recognize it from the Grinch:

"Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas perhaps, means a little bit more."

This is so neat. I am hoping something changes and we are able to go next weekend!
