Happy 5th Birthday Lucas!

My sweet baby is FIVE years old today. That just doesn't sound right. Lucas, you showed me a kind of love I never even knew I had inside me. My entire world changed for the better the day I found out you were a teeny tiny little thing growing in my belly. No words could ever express the feeling you have given me. The bond we have is so special. You fill me up with so much love.

This year you started pre-k. Now you only have a few months until you begin kindergarten.

Your imagination amazes me more and more each day. You take the most random items and turn them into treasures in your eyes. I love your spirit.

You look just like I did when I was little. You get more and more handsome as the time goes on.

You started baseball last year, but this year you have become quite the little ball player. Next yer you move up to coach pitch.

You became a big brother also. This is one job you are amazing at. I can tell that you still get jealous to this day (we will not even mention how bad you were when we came home from the hospital). No matter how jealous you get, when you don't know I am watching you never cease to amaze me with how sweet and loving you are to you precious sister. Everyone thinks she looks just like you too.

You tell your daddy all the time that he is your best friend. The precious thing is, you mean it with all your heart when you say it. The two of you crack me up when you are together. He is clearly your hero.

You do not have a shy bone in your body. You must take after your brother in that department. You are always the life of the party. That is no exaggeration.

You started learning to swim this past summer. I cannot wait to see if you remember any of it. You love the water.

You like to dress up as characters and play. You would much rather make up your own game or story than read a book or play a video game. I love that about you.

It seems like we took the above picture yesterday. You were one month old.

You were about two weeks in this one. On your first Easter.

I hope the two of us can have times like this together forever. This was a wedding we were both in. Maybe you will never become too embarrassed by me and take me on some mommy/son dates... You are already so girl crazy.

Family of four. This is when you were the baby. Although in my heart you will always be my baby.

This was last year on your birthday. Today is exactly one year since this photo. It's crazy how you can look so much bigger, yet still so small.

This song has always made me think of you:

Well there you are baby. Another year together. I thank God every day for you. You are the sunshine of my life. I love you so much!

Love,

Mommy

Change in the Blog Name

I changed the title to my blog. I know it is no biggy, just saying the old title is no more. I have my reasons. HA. I think this name suits a perfectly though. It "fits" for sure. :)

Paisley is Seven Months Old!

My sweet girl. You are now seven months old. (Technically you have been seven months for around a week. I have three kids, so I am a little late with this post. You still love me though, right?) The bigger you get the faster you seem to change. You have such a personality and are into everything. You play your heart out and already want to be doing everything to keep up with your big brothers. At your six month check up you were 15 lb 4 oz. I think you may weigh at least 16 something now. According to our home scale anyway. You are getting better about going to other people now but you still are very much a mommy's girl. You still love everything I give you. There is not a food you have turned down. You don't seem to do well with juice though. You are content with water and that suits me just fine. Just like your mommy, a water lover! You love to go on walks with me. I am sad you are getting so big so fast, but so ready for you to be my little BFF. Who am I kidding... you practically already are. :)

We walk every morning after we take bubba to school. This is your favorite spot and I take you there every day. If there is a breeze the water will mist us and you think it is so funny. It has been pretty warm recently. You are an outdoorsy girl.

We went bowling. You weren't the biggest fan. We had to pass you back and forth in between turns.

Clapping is one of your many new talents. You clap on command now, all we have to do is say "YAY!" You also got two teeth this month on the bottom. You refuse to let me get a good picture though.

You have started napping more with daddy. I think daddy uses this to his advantage... hehe

We had a photo shoot ourselves for your six month portraits. I will post more on these later but it turned out amazing and I think we have a future in this instead of paying photographers. At least until we need a family picture.

We were so blessed to be able to dedicate you this month. We are really so thankful that God sent you to us.

You also started sitting up. You are a pro now. You love to play with your Laugh and Learn house since you have mastered this.

Then you went to all fours. In the same day. You have been a busy girl this month! You rock on your knees like crazy!

This may be your last picture ever with a bow. I love them so much and you continuously rip them off your head as soon as I put them on now.

You love to play with all of your toys.

You attended your first concert this month. Daddy was so happy that you were so excited to hear him.

You don't just play with toys. Your favorite things to play with are things that are not toys at all.

You are your brother's biggest fan. Both of them. You have your cute little baseball outfit and attend every game, happy as can be!

You have grown so much and I cannot wait to see what else is in store for us in the near future. You have already started new things just in the last few days. I love you sweet girl.

Love,
Mommy

If You're Happy and You Know It, Clap Your Hands!

On Monday Paisley started something completely out of the blue. She started clapping. I don't think she even knew what she was doing at first, but it was new to her so she kept it up. Every time she would do it I would say "Yay Paisley." She caught on pretty fast. Of course I made a video of her doing it.

I am amazed at how fast she catches on. She does not miss a beat. My smart girl.

I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him.

On Sunday, March 18, 2012 we dedicated our sweet girl. I feel that we are so blessed that God gave her to us in the first place, it was the least I could do to give her right back. We plan on raising her to be a Godly woman someday. My sweet girl.

She looked so pretty in her new dress. She looks pretty in a diaper, but she was just absolutely gorgeous. Pastor Steve had to remark on those big 'ol baby blues.

God has blessed us in more ways than I can even count. I am so very thankful to be her mommy. I thank God every day for all three of these blessings that call me mom.

God’s blessings poured out on you
In the gift He has given
Your precious baby daughter
God’s gift sent down from heaven
May God pour out His wisdom
To raise her in His love
So she may become a woman of God
With faith in God above

When the service started the preacher was talking about all these families brought their babies today to give back to God. Lucas looked at Cagney and I and said "what? We have to send Paisley back to God?" Bless his heart.

We Have An Overachiever On Our Hands!

On February 28 we hit a milestone. Actually we hit THREE milestones. That morning I had to take Paisley for her six month check up. She had to get shots, which every parent knows are no fun. It's almost like these shots gave her super powers. As soon as we got home she took a nap. A good, long nap. As soon as she woke up I realized she was sitting up by herself. No help at all. She was still a little wobbly but doing pretty darn good. Now she is a pro of course (yes, I know I have not updated in a good, long while).

I grabbed the camera and realized it was dead. I put it on the charger and grabbed the video camera. I took these pictures after her bath that night. She played in the floor for the longest time. I don't think she had ever sat alone to play for that long. She is a "hold me mommy" kind of girl. ;)

THEN she flipped to her belly to play. She does this so it was fine... until she got on all fours. Really?? She then started rocking back and forth. We are not ready for crawling!! No! This is all too much for one day Paisley. Slow down a little for mommy!

Enough milestones for one day, right?? Nope. Not for this little overachiever. She started chewing on my finger and I realized I felt something sharp. She had a tooth! I pulled her lip back to see (which was like wrestling a pig) and she had cut TWO teeth. TWO! They are the two bottom teeth in the very middle. I tried and tried to get a good picture but it is virtually impossible, so I gave up.

These are the videos I took when she had first got up from her nap. My baby girl is getting so big so fast...
