Baby Girl's Newborn Shoot

We bought a decent camera a couple months ago. I justified this purchase by claiming that we wouldn't have to pay an expensive photographer anymore.

That lasted until we found out we were having a girl. I didn't have a chance to get newborn photos of Lucas, so we got some made when he was a month old. With Paisley I was determined to have some of those pretty, professional newborn pictures you see all over the internet. Let's face it, just because I have a nice camera, doesn't mean I am a pro. So I called up a very talented local photographer and here they are. I think they are perfect. Just like her. <3

Paisley is One Month Old

Paisley you are one month old. Why does it go by so quickly? Seriously, can a whole month have passed already? You actually turned one month on the 23rd, not today. My sweet baby girl is growing too fast. You love the bath. Ever since we can submerge you in the water you love it. I think you would lie there as long as we would let you.

You are becoming more and more laid back every day Paisley. So far though, you have been the opposite of your big brother Lucas. You are a very high demand baby. Not a bad baby, you just need your mama more (which is fine by me of course). I am trying to eat up every second I get with you because I know that before long you will be a big girl.

Your dad said I can turn you into a girly girl cheerleader and that would be just fine. I think it is because he would be allowed to watch more football. Honestly, I take that back because no matter what is going on, if you are in the room he cannot take his eyes off of you. He loves his baby girl.

You love the outdoors. If you get fussy I take you onto the porch to let you look around. You are so alert now and just love to gaze outside. Today when we picked Lucas up from school, I let you see the fountain across the street. You stared in amazement for thirty minutes.

At your doctor appointment today you weighed 10 lbs 2 oz and were 22 inches long. Growing like a weed. You went from 50th percentile in both to 75th percentile in height and weight. Your head circumference went from 30th percentile to 50th. The doctor said you look extremely healthy and he couldn't find anything wrong with you if he tried. You have a blocked tear duct in each eye though, which we expect to go away soon with some massaging.

I love you more than you know Paisley!

August/September Randomness

Just some random stuff lately. We have been pretty darn busy adjusting to three children. I have to say, whoever said that once you had two kids going to three was a breeze is a LIAR. The lack of sleep and lack of hands has me behind on everything recently. Anyway, we took some pictures of Miss Priss going to her first doctor appointment. My sister got her this outfit the night I found out it was a girl. So sweet. I am loving purple on her too.

Mommy and baby getting ready for our first outing since being home.

Daddy admiring his princess. He does this A LOT. Melts my heart. :)

All ready to go!

Blake loves to hold her. He is always asking, we can't keep him away!

My mom and Lucas put this sign in our yard. It was there when we got home from the hospital. He was so proud that he had a surprise for us, it was precious...

First bath and NOT liking it. Now she loves bath time. She is kind of temperamental, but it's like bath time soothes her. She just stares at us like she is so relaxed.

Feeling much better now that she is dry.

Just had to add this since the outfit is PRECIOUS.

Another wonderful big brother here! He just stared at her for ten minutes and didn't even realize we were watching him <3

Hopefully, I am close to being back on track.

Paisley's Hospital Stay

Kind of random, but I had to do a post of a few pics from Paisley's hospital stay. I had her on Tuesday at 12:46 pm and we went home around 9 am on Thursday morning, so we were not there long at all considering I had a cesarean. This recovery has been SO much easier than my recovery from Lucas' cesarean. The doctor says that is because I didn't labor at all this time. Yeah, I think that NOT having my epidural wear off completely and pushing for two hours may have helped just a little...

Anyway, up above is a picture of her going to have her first bath. Daddy followed her and got some video too.

TOTAL Daddy's girl already. He wouldn't have it any other way!

Day two for Miss Priss. The nurses loved her hats. They said she was already a diva.

Lucas showing off his Big Brother bracelet. I loved that at this hospital they only allow siblings up if they are under the age of 16. I know some people wanna bring their kids with them, and she has met everyone since being home, but when babies are so brand new you don't want every kid you know all up in their face. Ya know? Maybe it's just me, lol. I'm not even a huge germaphobe...

This picture is so precious to me. Lucas had a hard time for the first week after she was born. This picture was taken on day two in the hospital and he didn't know anyone was paying attention. So precious...

Of course I brought this home for her baby book...

Just pretend my hair looked fabulous and you have a wonderful photo.

We are going on three weeks now and still trying to find our groove. I have complete faith we will find it soon though. I don't care what anyone says, going from two to three is WAY harder than going from one to two. So far anyway. I wouldn't have it any other way though. Not at all. :)

Lucas started Pre-K!

My sweet baby boy started pre-k. He was supposed to start August 23rd, but since we had a planned c-section for that day he started on the 24th. His daddy left the hospital the next morning and took him for his very first day of school ever. Guess who got to miss it? Mommy. :( I cried about it and moved on. At least one parent got to experience it, and he took some pictures for me.

We actually went to his open house the night before I had the baby. He was very excited to start and not afraid at all. He is a very outgoing child, so no crying for him.

On the steps to the school. The school is at a Baptist church near here and we used to go to church with the women that run it. It is an amazing school and I feel so blessed that we were able to send Lucas there for pre-k. It was important to us to send him to a faith based program.

Off he goes!! My baby boy leaving his mommy for the real world. Okay, maybe it affects me way more than him. He is loving every minute of it though. Seeing him blossom makes me happy. :)
