Paisley's First Day

This is the story of one of the best days of my life. Our sweet baby girl, Paisley, was born at 12:46 pm on Tuesday, August 23, 2011. I knew when I laid my eyes on her that my life would never be the same.

I was a nervous wreck walking into that OR. With Lucas, I didn't care how they got him out, due to the glorious labor I had to endure. So when they said c-section, I said "Yes, please!" I think maybe it was the fact that I knew I would be totally conscious and they would be slicing me wide open that bothered me. I had all this time to think about it. So when I walked in, it was scary. The very second I heard my sweet baby's first cry, all my nerves went down the toilet. I completely forgot that my guts were exposed. All that mattered was I had a healthy baby girl.

There she is! All 8 lbs 12 oz and 20 inches of pure sweetness. Slightly smaller than her older brother. Just the perfect little arm full.

Meeting mommy for the first time. I had tears in my eyes.

The three of us for the first time. He has been a baby hog since this photo was taken.

I love this picture! I don't know what it is about it, but it is one of my favorites! The nurses in this hospital were amazing. From delivery until discharge.

I am so extremely lucky to have this man as the father of my children. This baby girl has the proudest daddy ever. This may be his third baby, but I have never seen him wrapped so fast. Must be a girl thing. He fully admits to being whipped already.

Me and my sweet girl. I feel so lucky to have a beautiful, healthy baby. The feeling you instantly have for your baby is unlike anything else in the world. It's a love like no other.

Lucas meeting his sister for the first time. He has had a difficult week. Poor baby started pre-k, stayed somewhere else for four nights in a row, and became a big brother all last week. That is a lot for a four year old to digest. But he has already started doing much better with her and it is so proud too. He is going to be very protective, we can tell. He has loved her from moment one, it was me he was unsure about. Broke my heart but he is slowly liking me again. I love that sweet boy.

I made these shirts for all of them. The boys say Big Bro and hers says Lil Sis. Definitely framing this pic. All of my babies!

Fifth Grade

Somebody started fifth grade last week. He keeps referring to himself as a senior now. So far so good with the school work. Fifth grade is already much harder for me than any other grade so I know it is harder on him. Seems to be adjusting well so far though. I think we are in for a great year.

Little brothers favorite thing to do now is watch the bus come in the morning. I feel so bad, but I try to not wake him so I can lay back down for about an hour. I know starting next week I will be up and not able to lay back down so I will get him up then. Being nine months pregnant is catching up with me and I love the sleep.

The bus comes about 7 am every morning. He seems to like riding it. It is his first year doing so. I just knew that having a newborn, one in pre-k, and one in Elementary school there was no way I could leave the house four times a day to do school pick up's and drop off's. So for this year, the bus it is.

The nursery is complete!

It is finally finished. Now we are ready for Miss Priss to come home. She is coming in five days, so I am going to be busy cleaning and stocking the house until then (and maybe resting since I will not do much of that once she does come).

This is hanging on her bedroom door. My mom ordered it on Etsy. So cute.

The changing table and closet. The maternity picture above the changing table is just temporary. I am having a lady do some newborn pictures of her, so when I get those back we will be hanging one of them instead.

This is the same glider I had in Lucas' nursery. The cushions were blue and white then. My Grammy recovered it and I have gotten so many compliments on it.

A beautiful bed for a sweet baby girl.

Her armoire. I can't bare to take that diaper cake apart until she is big enough to wear the diapers.

Her daddy picked out her light. It really makes the entire room.

Is it bad that these are full and I still need another bow holder? Not used to all these accessories.

We have five days til the big arrival. We are all on pins and needles. Can't wait!

36 Weeks

This was taken at my cousin Shannon's baby shower this past Saturday. She is having a baby girl in September (Hayleigh Grace). Christy is my other cousin (and her sister) and she is having a baby boy due beginning of October (Colton Wayne). I am due in 3 week, Shannon is due in 6 weeks, and Christy is due in 9 weeks. We totally planned this, NOT!

My Grammy had to rub the bellies! Paisley has dropped. That's for sure!

How Far Along:36 weeks
Size of baby: Paisley is the size of a watermelon.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I am at a total of exactly 20 lbs. now. Much better than I did with Lucas.
Maternity Clothes: Most of my maternity shirts are just about too short.
Gender: It's a Girl! Paisley Nicole Chappell
Movement: She still moves, but not as much. Probably due to lack of room.
Sleep: So-so. Just depends on if I can get comfortable long enough to fall into a deep sleep, which is hard.
What I miss: Being able to pick Lucas up and play. Bending over to dry my hair without hurting. Shaving my legs easily. Going up the stairs without losing my breath.
Cravings: Nothing in particular.
Symptoms: Leg cramps at night. Slight swelling (nothing at all like it was at Lucas). Back pain. Braxton hicks.
Best Moment this week: Being full term! Yay! You can come anytime now Paisley!
