Thanksgiving Weekend 2010

This Thanksgiving was wonderful as usual. Busy as ever. We had three places to go this year. First stop was my nannys, which was the only place I took the camera out of the car even. Bad mama, I know. It was a busy day. Above is my daddy, nanny, and my Uncle Rog- WAIT! I mean Uncle Stacey. (inside joke) :)

My PawPaw, Mom, Nanny, and Daddy
Me and my little familia with my Nanny and PawPaw
My Nanny and PawPaw with my two cousins, Morgan and Jordan, and their dad, my Uncle Stacey.

Wonderful Thanksgiving! That night? I never went to bed. My sister and I hit up WalMart around 10 to get some of the 12:01 deals. Worth it because I finished Lucas completely. Blake? Still working on him. We stood in line outside Target from about 1:30, til they opened at 4. My mom, Denise, Courtnee, and BFF Amanda met us there. Luckily we did NOT get cussed out when they entered the line. I got everything I went in for! Scored a dual screen DVD player for the car for 85 bucks! Guess which kids will be opening this early since we leave for Gatlinburg on the 9th? MINE! I also scored some other things, but shouldn't say just now since certain people read this blog. Not a lot of people, but SOME do. Shocker! :)

(It's going to drive that few of you crazy isn't it??) NA NA NA BOO BOO!

I came home Saturday morning after breakfast at iHop and crashed around 8 am! Thanks to my dad and wonderful father-in-law for taking one kid each so I could sleep til about 2 o'clock!

The next day we put up the Christmas decor. The boys handled the outdoors, while I put everything up inside. They came in that afternoon so we could all decorate the tree.

Blake pretty much did this the entire time. Glory had six puppies and they are 5 weeks now, so he loves to play with them. This is the sweetest pic.
"I dedicate this house to the Chappell Family Christmas."
Looking good there Sparky! (Those of you close to me will totally realize how appropriate that was! HAHA!)
I just wanted a pic of him in his Carhartts. Because it's cute. And he is the cutest Stud muffin on the planet. True story...
He made me a nervous wreck.
Welp, Sunday, Cag and Luke played outside and I watched a lot of FA LA LA LA Lifetime. I will post some pics of the inside later. :)

First hunting trip!

Bubba and Lucas waiting for pawpaw to come and pick Blake up for his first hunting trip. He was so excited! Blake is totally consumed by hunting, we are even redoing his room in January to look like a "hunting lodge" as he put it. I am more excited about that than him!

LOVE this picture!! My dad was so glad to take him, and Blake was beyond excited to go! He actually saw a deer and my dad brushed it off until he saw the tail end of it running away! He said he will never doubt Mr. Observant Blake again! HA!

Blake in the woods with his pellet gun. Maybe as he gets a little more experienced, he will get something a little more powerful. Oh Lord help us! LOL

In the Christmas spirit...

Look what showed up in our front yard the other day. She walked around for a good ten minutes, even with cars driving by. Blake was totally mesmerized. We see a lot of deer around here, just a couple days before this a doe crossed the road in front of the house and a fawn was right behind her. Precious! Wish I would have had my camera then!

OK, all of my beautiful Fall decor is going back in the bins today. If I am lucky I will get my husband to help me put the tree up tonight. I love Christmas decor and I think it's okay to put it up before Thanksgiving since so much work goes into it! This weekend we will do the outside lights! WOOHOO!

Christmas has got to be the best holiday yet! Who doesn't get excited about celebrating our Lord and Savior? Well if you don't, you should! ;)

"Man, this is baseball. You gotta stop thinkin' and just have fun." -The Sandlot

We had the banquet for Blake's Fall baseball team last weekend. Which happens to also be the first team that Cag coached. His brother helped, and they had another wonderful assistant coach that could not make it that night. We had it at the local pizza place. I think all in all it was a success!
What a proud mama. Cag's mom kept score for us this season and was very proud of her two boys, as well as the team.
Here's to a wonderful Fall season, and looking forward to Spring already! Go Bulldogs!

(This place was a horrible place to take pictures, as if you couldn't tell.)

Straight to the point.

Lucas is only 3 and is still learning to distinguish between what he CAN say, and SHOULDN'T say. This is so minor, but it cracked me up!

A lady in the Target parking lot saw Lucas and said to him, "Hey cutie!" He responded, "Hey, you need to wash your car."

Awesome.

Free Christmas Cards? No really...

I love, love, love to send out Christmas cards every year. I love to receive them even more. The entire month of December I stalk the darn mailbox. I can't be the only one, right? It's the little things people.

Well, my favorite photo sharing site, Shutterfly, is giving away 50 FREE Christmas cards to bloggers. Yes, please! I can't decide if I want to have several pictures of the kids on them, or one big picture... but the possibilities are endless! Their cards are so precious. All of them, but of course I have my favorites:
I have been using Shutterfly for over 3 years, and have had nothing but wonderful experiences and quality products from them. Another of our favorite things are the cute photo books. We have made these for Halloween, Christmas, Birthdays, you name it. It is especially great if you wish you had the time to scrapbook, but don't.
Wall calendars make wonderful Christmas presents. They also have desk calendars if you prefer. What a unique gift and so inexpensive. I just may be doing these for grandparents this year... (hope they aren't reading this)...
They also have address labels to match the card of your choice! AHH! I can't wait to get mine and send them out ASAP! Now I just have to pick the perfect photo. This may take a while...

How crazy would you be to NOT sign up for this? If you blog and would like to receive 50 free cards, sign up here: http://bit.ly/sfly2010.

High on the hill was a lonely goatherd

My Nanny and Pawpaw got 2 goats a while ago, and now they have a whole herd. Those things multiply quick. They have 3 babies, and we went to check them out yesterday afternoon. The grey one I am holding was my favorite. His name is Boots.

I cannot for the life of me remember the black ones name, but he was cute too. They all were precious. My kids love going to their house. I swear, it is like an episode of American Pickers. We always leave with a car load. Cagney just rolls his eyes. I came home with some antiques this time. I have a sled that I cannot WAIT to put out at Christmas!

This white one is actually the grey ones twin. Her name is Betsy. Boots and Betsy. I love it!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday!

Just another day....

This is my music loving 3 year old having fun on the slide. I am totally not kidding when I say he is going to turn out just like his dad. He loves music, has 3 guitars, and already wants to play football. I said no to the football thing for a couple more years, for now we are sticking to t-ball, he is only 3. We are pretty hooked on Garth Brooks right now, and borrowed my dad's box set. Lucas' new favorite song is Rodeo, and let me tell you, we know ALL the words already.... (insert eye roll). Between that and having completely memorized Toy Story 3 already, I think I am set for a while.

This is pretty much all Blake does. He is completely consumed with hunting, and the poor kid never gets to go. None of the men in our family hunt, except my dad and he does not go very often at all. For Christmas he has asked for: A new bow, extra arrows, a camo hunting tent, a deer target, lots of camo clothes, night vision goggles, and some new coveralls. I think we may be making some calls to nanny and pawpaw soon so we can go "hunt" at their house. He shot a bird the other day in the front yard. A song bird, that he shot just to show off. It made me sad. Am I just a sap, or is this a boy thing? My husband and brother-in-law assure me they used to do this as well. Broke my heart though.

(Don't worry guys, it's a pellet gun, I don't let him play in the yard with rifles).

On another note, I am a grandma! Never thought I would be one at such an early age, but Glory made me a granny for the second time. She had 7 babies last Monday. SEVEN. One didn't make it. :(

They take after their father.

We brought the Entertainment

We went trick or treating downtown where we live. Everyone goes downtown, it is fun to see all the costumes and they have the good candy too ;)

Lucas loves to dance more than he likes to breathe I think. At my sister's wedding two weeks ago he danced for two hours straight with no breaks. So of course when we were trick or treating this was no exception. He heard the music and had to get moving.

He even drew a crowd. This child had a crowd of people that was cheering him on:

He learned a new dance too (notice the lady telling us to lay his hat out):

Then Brooklyn had to get down too:

What fun! These kids are awesome!

Halloween Recap 2010

Happy Halloween!!!

We had so much fun this Halloween. Lucas was Woody from Toy Story, of course (along with every other 3 year old boy in town)... but he was definitely the cutest! Blake was Woody when he was Luke's age too.
Lucas and Brooklyn were getting ready to trick or treat together. She was a "batterina". How precious.
Seriously, how handsome is he going to be when he grows up? But he isn't going to do that (grow up), so I guess that ruins that vision.
Blake wanted to be a baseball zombie this year, and this is what we came up with. He helped make it and loved how it turned out.
Brothers! Lucas makes sure everyone knows that is his brother. He is proud...
Cag pulling Lucas and Brooklyn in the wagon. Blake was on his own. Sucks getting bigger huh?
Lucas trick or treating with Andabef. OK her name is really Anna Beth, but this is what he calls her. She is one of my best friends little girl and they are the same age. I know it is from the back but how cute is that Tinkerbell costume made by her mom Amanda? Lucas calls her his girlfriend. He really believes it. HA!
Love this one!!! Notice Blake is missing a lot? That is because we could not keep up with him.

In front of the colorful fountain downtown. They had so much fun!

They are already ready for next Halloween! Wonder what they will be into next year? Who knows...
