Fashion Statement
Paisley has an obsession. Everywhere we go, any time of day, she has to be wearing a certain pair of shoes...
The thing is- these shoes don't match anything she wears. She doesn't care...
It was a fight to get her to take them off and wear her sandals for pictures yesterday...
Today she even napped in them. Yes, she slept in heels...
...and I LOVE it. I realize there will come a day all too soon when I wish I heard clicking up and down the hall all day long. So I let her wear them and smile...

Ten on Ten
This is my first time doing this and I am SO excited to make it a regular thing. I think it will help me become a better photographer and be fun at the same time. Win-win!!
If you have never heard of the Ten on Ten project, you can check it out here. I just found her blog yesterday and I love it. I was inspired to do this pretty quickly after looking through everyone's pictures on the link ups. It just so happened that I found this on the 9th of the month, so I figured it was pretty much mean't for me to find it. :)
Here goes my first attempt: 4/10/13

Chicken Play
The kids new favorite activity since we have warmer weather is to go get the chickens out and chase them around the yard. They love it and I am fairly sure that the chickens enjoy being out too. We are working on their new coop and I think right now their old one is a little cramped.
We purchased five chicks a little over a month ago. We got two barred rock, two buff orpington (we already have three of these hens and we love them), and one frizzle. The frizzle died on the third day we had them and the others are still going strong.
Above is one of our barred rocks and she is standing where our soon to be garden is! I am so excited to get that garden going soon.
Blake likes to try and train them.
They seem to love him to pieces. This is one of our baby buffs. We are still trying to think of good names and we have had them for over a month now. We need to get on that.
*please excuse the play set mess in the background. we had a small tornado a few weeks ago and have a huge mess on our hands. the hubs was rebuilding our fence as I was taking these pics.
Lucas wanted to put her on his shoulder too but she was more interested in standing on his back.
Paisley cracks me up with them. She makes the funniest faces when they do things. We have to teach her every day over and over again how to be sweet to them. She is not very gentle with the babies but she is getting there.

Adventures In Thrifting
I LOVE to go shopping. I have great taste, I just don't have enough money to prove it! Haha, I kid! A few of my favorite places to go are thrift stores. I love a good find. It is usually hit or miss for me. Today was a hit.
This morning I was getting major cabin fever. We have been at the house all week so Paisley and I headed to one of my favorite thrift stores. I am glad we did because we scored big time today!
Paisley grabbed this sweet little set of board books: Mermaid Marina, Princess Petal, and Ballerina Belle. We got all three for one dollar. Pretty good since they are five apiece brand new. She loves to look at books.
We got five preschool workbooks for one dollar too. They are geared toward two year olds so they are perfect for miss priss who is all into coloring now.
I scored the milk glass vase for two bucks!
The vintage pyrex dish is my favorite. I love all things pyrex and vintage. Hehe.
Love my new little soap dish. It is going to hold our new soaps we plan on using. Goat milk soap! Great for your skin (more on that later).
This vintage Bambi figurine has been there every time I have gone for the last few months. I have a vision for Paisley's room and this fits in just perfectly. I figured the fact that it was still there was fate? Ha!
Those are all great, but THIS is my favorite score of the day! My new (to me), old enamel table top. She is going to make the most beautiful island in my kitchen some day soon. I couldn't pass it up!
Now I am off to search and see if there are any local yard sales this weekend...

Lucas' Birthday Dinner
My sweet baby turned six years old last week. I cannot believe he is SIX. They truly do grow so fast. The hubs and his dad share a birthday and their birthday is two days before Lucas' birthday (I was actually induced to have Lucas on their birthday, but he didn't come until two days later). We went to dinner this past weekend to honor all three of them. They chose seafood and it was delicious!
Paisley posed once for me, but as you can see in the second photo she had to do her own thing.
My sweet birthday boy! I know I call him sweet all the time, but I am not just saying it because he is mine. He truly is one of the sweetest kids ever. He won the kindness award at school a few days ago. I couldn't be prouder. I would mush rather him win an award for being a good person than be a total genius. Love this kid.
I love this picture of these two.
I very rarely love pictures that I am in, but this is one of my favorite pictures ever. It probably has to do with the handsome guy sitting on my lap... ;)

Easter 2013
This post is going to seem so long. I took a ton of pictures of the kids yesterday and I am probably going to share almost all of them! Ha! They woke up to see what the Easter Bunny had brought:
Then we headed out for a wonderful church service:
Don't they look precious? Okay, I am partial...
We headed home after church to whip up some food to take to our first Easter celebration of the day. We went to my grandparents and had some delicious food and watched the kids play and hunt some eggs.
Then we hurried off to visit the hubs side of the family. We also had some wonderful food there and of course another egg hunt.
We came home after a long day of having a blast and worshiping God and we were beat! But we all managed to settle down together to catch the conclusion of The Bible on the history channel. Have you been watching? It was amazing. I have the entire series recorded so that the kids can watch it all.
I am so thankful for the real meaning of Easter. I am so glad that my babies know that it is not just about a bunny. I am so thankful that I have a saviour who paid it all for me!
I just love the lyrics to this song:

I just love the lyrics to this song:
Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow
O praise the one who paid my debt
And raised this life up from the dead!
I hope that all of you were as blessed this Easter as I was.
